Exhibitions : Be the centre of attention with a chocolate fountain.

Having attended many local business exhibitions over the last 12 months, one thing that has always been the focus for many exhibitors is how to attract more visitors to their stand. Many will be offering the usual assortment of pens, keyrings and sweets along with many leaflets, flyers and pamphlets to quickly wear down the attendees.

I recently attended a small exhibition at an Aston Martin showroom, and noticed that many attendees were located around one stand, which had even managed to pull the attention away from the shiny Aston Martin parked in the centre of the showroom.

The main focus of this attention was the 6′ chocolate fountain, with a large selection of sweets, fruit and pastries for visitors to cover in warm creamy chocolate. Not only did this fabulous chocolate waterfall attract visitors, but it also kept them there for enough time for the owner of the stand to chat to them about his services.

Chococolate Fountain Hire

Chococolate Fountain Hire

The chocolate fountain was so popular that people would gather at the stand and try many of the goodies on offer, while feeling relaxed enough to listen to the sales patter offered.

I highly recommend that anyone looking to exhibit at trade shows and exhibitions look at the benefits of hiring a chocolate fountain. With the expense of all the other marketing materials, chocolate fountain hire could make you centre of attention at your next event.

Boost Your Advertising With A Good Landing Page

A good landing page for your advertising campaign is essential to keep visitors on your site, and more importantly to ensure that they are converted into customers. The following tips below will help you achieve the required result.

1. When creating the landing page ensure that the information clearly states what you are advertising whilst making it easy for the customer to find what they are looking for. Sending them elsewhere may make them reconsider. If the product or service that a customer is searching for is not clearly visible they will leave.

2. Try and keep each landing page individual for the product you are advertising. This will allow you to concentrate on the keywords for that product, and ensure that you are found for relevant searches in the search engines.

3. Focus on the benefits of the product or service that you are advertising, and provide examples of pain points a customer may be experiencing. i.e. Is your computer running slow?

4. Keep your landing page uncluttered, and consider adding a testimonial given to you for that product or service.

5. Add your landing page to your sitemaps and resubmit to the search engines. It will also be worth adding links from your main website to ensure that the page is quickly indexed.

Interest Rates Cut Again

The Bank of England has announced another 0.5% cut to the interest rate in the hope to aid economic recovery in the UK. The new rate of 1.5% is at the lowest of the banks 315 year history.

We will have to wait to see if the mortgage lenders will pass the 0.5% cut onto its customers.

Think about insurance for your health, income and business.

Having recently recovered from a bad case of the dreaded “manflu”, and having to soldier on regardless (not easy) I was wondering what would have happened if I was unable to work for any extended time.

At a breakfast meeting last week I managed to catch up with a colleague who I had not seen for a few weeks. It turned out that he had fallen from a ladder and broken both shoulder blades. Due to the injury he was unable to work for 6 weeks!!

How would your business cope for that length of time? Would your business still be there?

Luckily for my colleague he had a good health insurance policy which ensured a speedy recovery, and an income protection plan in place which meant that he had income during the 6 weeks to help cover his mortgage and business costs.

After serious consideration I decided to look for some income protection and health insurance policies, only to discover that it is an absolute minefield. Luckily I came across the Private Healthcare Bureau, who not only helped me decide which policies were suited to my needs, but also organised it all free of charge.

Anyone looking for help to choose the correct private medical insurance and income protection policies are able to receive a free of charge consultation from PHB. They are highly recommended.

Don’t leave it to chance. Protect your business now.

Overseas Roaming Costs To Reduce

Telecom chiefs in Europe are backing plans to cap roaming mobile data costs abroad, reducing the price customers will pay for sending texts and emails from their mobile phones.

The price changes are due to come in to force from July 2009 and will be welcomed by small business owners and visitors abroad who have received shocking bills for roaming services.
